When Gurudev was in His human form, I used to go   to Gurgaon everyday, infact twice a day. I had an Ambassador car which used to   give me an average of approx. 10 kilometers to a litre. Since the meter of the   fuel indicator was faulty, I used to get petrol filled up and write down the   mileage, so that I could get a re-fill before the petrol finishes in the   tank.

One morning when I was in Gurgaon with Gurudev outside the Guru-Sthaan and we   were standing next to my car, I saw the paper on which I used to write down the   mileage and got tensed up because I had forgotten to get a re-fill of the petrol   tank. I opened the lid of the petrol tank, inserted a thin and long wooden stick   in it, to check the level of petrol. To my horror, it was absolutely empty. My   problems increased because I had to go somewhere far from Gurgaon and I was   getting LATE.

Gurudev sensed my problem and asked a person to get a few grains of Pulses   (“Dal”) from His residence. (The “Guru-Sthaan”). He put those few grains of   Pulses in the petrol tank of my car, and asked me NEVER TO OPEN THE LID OF THE   PETROL TANK OF MY CAR, AGAIN.

I took His blessings and left. The capacity of the petrol tank of my Ambassador car was 50 litres, which means that on a full tank, with an average of 10 kilometers to a litre, it should have run for about 500 kilometers.

To my utter disbelief, from the day Gurudev had put those grains of Pulses in the EMPTY tank of my car, it had run approx. 750 kilometers. In total curiosity, one day, (Forgetting that Gurudev had asked me never to open the lid of the petrol tank again), I opened the lid of the petrol tank, to check what was inside. It was totally empty.

After that day, (when I opened the lid), my car did’nt even move an inch. I had to get petrol in a can to retrieve it. Gurudev had been running my car till that day.
